Maui - One Man Against The Gods returns with excerpts to be performed in Wellington and Auckland as part of the Real New Zealand Festival running over the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Come and catch aerial and kapa haka excerpts of Maui at Kowhiti Dance 2011 at the Wellington Opera House alongside a cultural showcase of South African, Hawai'ian, Samoan and Maori contemporary and cultural dance. Maui then performs at The Cloud fanzone on Auckland's waterfront as part of the free live fan entertainment before the big matches go live from 7:30 - 8pm on Fri 23rd, Sat 24th and Sun 25th September.

Alongside both these performance experiences will be excerpts of Tiki Taane Mahuta, presenting a selection of Tiki Taane's hit songs with a combination of kapa krump, hip-hop and an upside down aerial tango number to Tiki's hit song "Always on my mind".

Stirring kapa haka and spectacular aerial theatre unite in this stunning theatre production that tells the story of Maui’s life – a thrilling journey of the senses in which gods fly and one man defies them all. Join 61,000 New Zealanders who have already been enchanted by Maui.

Staged over 2 hours with a cast of 18 onstage performers, Maui is a dynamic mix of kapa haka, aerial theatre and contemporary dance with an original score featuring traditional Maori instruments.
